Capital One Venture X Business card review: Full details - The Points Guy

Feb 27, 2025Feb 27, 2025

The Capital One Venture X Business is the business version of the fan-favorite Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card. Like its personal counterpart, the Venture X Business offers luxury perks for a reasonable annual fee and a simple earning structure of at least 2 miles per dollar on all purchases. This is a great option for small-business owners who value simplicity. Card rating*: ⭐⭐⭐⭐½

Since its debut in 2021, the Capital One Venture X Rewards Card has been a major player in the premium card space, offering luxury benefits like airport lounge access and a valuable travel credit for a relatively low annual fee.

Since 2023, the Capital One Venture X Business has been publicly available. It has the same $395 annual fee and many of the same benefits we've come to love in the Venture X. These include generous airport lounge access, an annual travel credit and the option to add employee cards at no additional fee.

The major difference between the personal and business offerings, however, is the welcome offer. The Venture X Business comes in swinging with a valuable welcome offer — along with an eyebrow-raising spending requirement to earn it.

This card requires an excellent credit score, which is why TPG recommends a credit score of 740 or above.

Here's what you need to know if you're considering applying for the Capital One Venture X Business.

The Capital One Venture X Business offers a substantial bonus to those who can meet its spending requirement. New applicants can earn 150,000 bonus miles after spending $30,000 in the first three months from account opening.

You can redeem Capital One miles for a statement credit to cover travel purchases at a flat rate of 1 cent per mile. If you choose this route, the full 150,000-mile bonus is worth $1,500.

But if you take advantage of the option to transfer your miles to Capital One's valuable hotel and airline partners, you'll get a higher value of $2,775 from this bonus, according to TPG's February 2025 valuations.

The Venture X Business has many of the same perks that have made its personal counterpart so popular. As a cardholder, you'll get:

If you can maximize these benefits, you'll easily justify the card's $395 annual fee. Those who spend significant time in airports with a Capital One lounge or landing will appreciate this card's unlimited access since a single visit typically costs $90.

With the Venture X Business, you'll earn:

This simple earning structure means you won't have to worry about whether your purchase falls in a bonus-earning category.

However, suppose you spend much of your business budget on categories like shipping and advertising. In that case, you might find that you'll get a better return on your spending with a different business credit card.

Your most valuable redemption option is to transfer your miles to any of Capital One's 15-plus hotel and airline partners.

However, you can also redeem your miles to book travel through Capital One Travel, for a statement credit to cover travel purchases or to purchase gift cards at a flat rate of 1 cent per mile.

Again, the most valuable redemption option is to transfer your miles to one of Capital One's travel partners. You have 15-plus hotel and airline programs to choose from, including Air Canada Aeroplan, Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer and Choice Privileges.

TPG contributing editor Matt Moffitt likes to transfer his miles to Air France-KLM Flying Blue to get good deals on business-class flights to Europe and British Airways Executive Club for nonstop American Airlines flights within the U.S.
